Embroidery is the process of using a needle and thread to decorate a fabric with patterns or designs. The craft has been practiced throughout history by many cultures and has recently reached a new level of popularity with the advent of computerized embroidery equipment.

This was traditionally a very expensive technique because it was labor intensive and required many years to get good at it and many hours to embroider a garment. The advent of computers and robotics allowed the embroidery equipment to be computerized which eliminated much of the labor.
